Wedding makeup inspiration

When it comes to Wedding makeup inspiration, it is important to look for eye shadow shades that suit your eye colour and skin tone. Our eyes are one of the most important features – they show so much emotion and are the first thing you look at one someone.

Getting the tones right makes such an impact on your overall make up look – enhancing not only the colour of your iris and creating bright eyes that really stand out but it also really brings out the brightness of healthy looking skin. Many people don’t always realize that skin tone is equally important when choosing the right tones and colour palette for the eyes.

It has a big effect on your ability to carry off certain shades – you are looking to opt for shades that really compliment your natural tones and eye colour. If you have an olive or dark complexion you can work rich deep shades whereas pale skin tones suit lighter delicate colours so they do not overpower.

Pale Skin – Pale complexions suit warm colours such as salmon pinks, apricots, shades of beige. Look to golden beige to add light to your complexion. You generally want to stick to harmonious tones and earthy colours as an overview.

Fair/Medium Skin – Pinks and peaches are perfect for adding real radiance to neutral skin tones.

Dark Skin – This skin tone works well with such a variety of colours, from real brights to dark deep shades. Metallic bronze, golds and sun kissed tonal palettes bring a brightness and light to very dark complexions.

Blue – Blue eyes suit earthy tones of warm oranges and browns. Gold champagne metallic can work well to emphasis the iris without distracting. Taupe, slate and grey can suit too spending on the intensity of the blue in your eyes. Generally lighter neutral tones complement over anything too dark and smoky.

Grey – With grey eyes choose sooty, smoky shades or play with metallic silvers with a shimmery blue purple hue to subtly enhance this rare eye colour.

Brown – Those blessed with beautiful big brown eyes can pull of most colours from greens, blues, pink tones, golds, coppers and champagne. Bronze golds and neutral shades such as salmon work well to really accentuate the natural colour without being too dramatic.

Dark Brown – Always go for deep shades to highlight your dark eyes – dark grey, navy, browns and blacks. Try playing with metallic eye shadows – these will reflect your eyes beautifully.

Hazel – With hazel coloured eyes you want to intensify the light flecks in the iris so opt for metallic and delicate dusty pinks to bring out that sparkle. Add dark gold brown or black liner and mascara to add some drama.

Green – Green eyes are generally naturally bright so no vivid colours are needed. Instead try a shimmery mocha, golds or warm browns with orange undertones or go for a deep rich purple for to add real intensity.

Another great Wedding makeup inspiration is To add some more drama, add darker tones to the outer corners of the eyes and apply a little deep dark green liner to the eyes to emphasis the brightness of the iris.

As a general rule – you don’t want to go for the same as the eye colour as this will only compete, drawing attention to the eye shadow rather than the eye itself. If unsure always opt for soft neutrals on the eye and you can’t go far wrong as they tend to suit most eye colour and skin tones and are perfect for an everyday eye shadow look.
