At Garden Route Weddings, we believe in community. One of the best ways to show what our region and its incredible service providers can offer is through styled shoots.
Each year we produce a few styled wedding shoots to highlight the breathtaking landscapes our region offers and the creativity of our Garden Route members. This year, we kicked things off with an incredible shoot at the one-stop Karoo wedding venue, Karoo62.
Karoo62 Escape sits just outside Ladismith in the Klein Karoo. It offers self-catering accommodation with mountain views, a pool, plenty for the kids to do, and practical touches like private check-in, braai areas, family-friendly units, a luxury off-the-grid bush lodge, and luxury tents. For weddings, that means you can host a full weekend on site—arrival night around a bonfire braai, a full wedding day, and a relaxed breakfast send-off—without splitting guests across different properties. The easy indoor–outdoor flow keeps layouts simple, and the scenery does most of the décor work for you.
That scenery was our starting point. This majestic Karoo farm offers so many ceremony spots, and we were lucky to have snow-capped mountains in the background. We kept the setting fresh and modern, aiming for a calm, effortless Karoo feel. Our wabi-sabi inspired approach drew from the mountains—natural materials, simple lines, and those perfectly imperfect details that feel real and relaxed. We used soft, muted earthy tones and textures that blended into the rugged landscape, including stone elements echoed in the stationery. The overall vibe was understated luxury—nothing fussy, everything intentional—so each element quietly told a story of love and place.
House of Gather created five distinct setups across the property, each tailored to its location, using their in-house décor collection. KallyVille Stationery & Printing complemented the look with beautiful stationery and print pieces in the same earthy palette. Our wonderful couple, who braved the cold, were dressed by Bridal Inn and Occasions in George. Alicia from Fijnbos Photography captured it all over two days across multiple locations with several wardrobe and lighting changes. Anna-Mart from Alora Videography produced the main film plus a behind-the-scenes cut—and even stepped in as a model on day two. Dienkie from Amazing Transformation by Dienkie styled both models with gorgeous hair and makeup across both days. Last, but definately not least… the shoot was well complimented by the amazing cake design by our very own, Joy from Sweet Joy Cake Design.
A huge thank you to Tamzin from Karoo62 and her team for hosting us over the shoot days. The accommodation was spot-on, Veldview Eats kept everyone happy with fantastic meals, and the team spirit was top-notch. The final images and film are a testament to what happens when talented people collaborate, park the ego, and go the extra mile with a smile.

Garden Route Weddings is a regional platform that connects couples with venues and service providers across the Garden Route and Klein Karoo. Beyond listings, they run styled shoots and networking to help couples see real options and help vendors collaborate.
