I’m Gerhard Coetzer, and for more than 15 years I’ve photographed weddings across venues and beaches, from soft morning light to harsh midday sun and magical sunsets. And I enjoy creating those after-dark artistic photos or your portrait under the starts. I stay calm under pressure and focus on creating timeless images you’ll love for ever.

I would classify my style as documentary with a dash of creativity. I quietly capture the in-between moments and then add a touch of artistry when the light, setting, or emotion calls for it. Light and airy? High contrast? Close-ups and sweeping wides? I use two cameras (often with flash) to give you variety in angles, lighting, and feel. Every photo is edited, but I keep colours true to life and do not use one-size-fits-all presets—unless you want something specific. If I create a special effect’s edit, you’ll still have the clean original.

Turnaround time matters. You’ll receive a handful of sneak peeks within a day or two, and your full gallery in two weeks or less.

Elopement weddings are intimate with far less things to worry about, and I love shooting them because there is no rush to get back to the reception. It leaves me with more room to create! If you’re planning a Garden Route elopement wedding (or anywhere else), let’s talk.
